Restorative Writing Workshops & Facilitation
Thoughtful writing experiences that give people space to slow down, get curious, and hear themselves a little more clearly.
Available virtually and in person across Central and Northern Ontario.
A different way into the conversation.
Not every meaningful conversation needs to begin by asking people to speak.
Writing gives us time to pause. To notice what’s happening beneath our first response. To find our own words before deciding whether we want to share them with anyone else.
My workshops aren’t about becoming better writers or producing something polished. We use writing as a way to listen, get curious, and make a little more room for whatever is already there.
Workshop Experiences
Each experience can stand on its own or be adapted around your group, setting, and what you’re hoping to create together.
Finding the Thread
Restorative Writing for Clarity & Self-Trust
When our thoughts or experiences feel tangled, we often try to understand everything at once. This workshop offers another way. Using my Finding the Thread practice, participants learn to slow down, notice what’s asking for their attention, and follow one thread with curiosity.
We move through my framework (Arrive → Follow the Thread → Untangle → Carry Something Forward), leaving participants with a simple restorative writing practice they can return to on their own.
The Parts We Carry
Writing Through Change Without Leaving Yourself Behind
Change can bring a lot of different parts of us to the table at once. One might be ready to move forward while another wants everything to stay exactly as it was. Through guided writing, participants explore those different voices with curiosity: what they’re saying, what they might be protecting, and what they need to feel heard.
The goal isn’t to silence the fearful parts or force ourselves forward. It’s to understand ourselves well enough to move through change with more self-trust.
Who Takes Care of You?
Restorative Writing for People Who Carry a Lot
For caregivers, helping professionals, community leaders, and anyone who spends a lot of their life paying attention to what other people need. Through guided writing and reflection, participants have an opportunity to turn some of that attention inward: noticing what they’ve been carrying, what may have been pushed aside, and what their own needs might be asking of them now.
A little space for the person everyone else relies on.
Rewriting the Story
Exploring the Stories We Tell About Who We Are
We all carry stories about who we are, what we’re capable of, what our experiences mean about us, and what we're allowed to want next. Participants choose one of those stories and explore it through writing: where it came from, how it has shaped them, what purpose it may have served, and whether it still tells the whole truth.
This isn’t about replacing a difficult story with a prettier one. It’s about making room for a fuller version.
Built to fit the room.
These workshops are starting points, not rigid scripts. Each can be adapted around your group, or we can create something specifically for a theme, experience, or conversation your community is already navigating.
Sessions can include guided restorative writing, individual reflection, facilitated conversation, optional sharing, and practices participants can continue using afterward.
